MOVE – Home of the BERLIN-MARATHON

The MOVE is a tribute to the people of Berlin and a celebration of the BMW BERLIN-MARATHON as a unifying force for sports, the city, and its community.

Over 14 days, the MOVE invites you to explore the history of the BMW
BERLIN-MARATHON through exhibitions, events, or simply by enjoying a coffee at Brandenburg Gate.

The story of the BMW BERLIN-MARATHON is intertwined with Berlin itself, from its founding in 1974 to its rise as one of the world’s largest sporting events. How has the marathon shaped Berlin, and how has the city evolved in return? What conversations matter now in the context of a running event?

Berlin is “always becoming, never being,” as the saying goes. The MOVE reflects this spirit, pausing to celebrate 50 years of the BMW BERLIN-MARATHON while looking toward the future.
